Description
The Ortofon CC MKII SCRATCH Concorde MKII Scratch Cartridge delivers specialised performance for turntablists and DJs who focus on scratching and back-cueing techniques. Designed around the demands of scratch performance, it combines exceptional tracking ability with an extra-high output. Therefore, DJs can achieve strong, energetic sound while maintaining reliable groove contact during demanding vinyl manipulation. The Scratch uses a spherical diamond stylus that supports the requirements of back-cueing and scratching. Its spherical profile provides suitable groove contact during record manipulation while helping preserve the groove through repeated performance techniques. Furthermore, the stylus achieves 120 μm tracking ability at 315 Hz, giving the cartridge exceptional ability to trace record grooves during demanding routines. An aluminium cantilever supports the spherical diamond and provides a stable structure for accurate stylus movement. Meanwhile, the cartridge produces an exceptionally high 10 mV output for powerful sound reproduction across different musical styles. Consequently, DJs can achieve strong signal levels without relying on excessive preamplifier gain during their performances. The Ortofon CC MKII SCRATCH Concorde MKII Scratch Cartridge also delivers solid bass reproduction and extended high frequencies for an energetic overall sound. Its high output makes it particularly suitable for scratch performances featuring music with deep bass frequencies. Additionally, the cartridge provides 22 dB channel separation for clear stereo reproduction while maintaining its scratch-focused performance characteristics. Ortofon recommends a 4 g tracking force within a 3–5 g operating range for the Concorde Scratch. This configuration complements the cartridge’s specialised tracking characteristics and supports demanding turntablist techniques. With its dedicated spherical stylus, high output, strong tracking ability, and familiar Concorde design, the Scratch provides a focused solution for DJs who demand dependable performance during scratching and back-cueing.
