Description
The Ortofon STYLUS ARKIV Replacement stylus provides a dedicated replacement for vinyl-to-digital transcription applications. It supports accurate playback while preserving detailed musical information. Designed for the Arkiv cartridge, this replacement stylus uses a Special Elliptical profile. Consequently, it delivers detailed groove tracing and an extended high-frequency response. The design suits sampling, transcription, and professional recording workflows where accurate reproduction matters. Furthermore, it provides clear sound with strong stereo imaging across the recorded programme. The stylus delivers a 6 mV output at 1 kHz and 5 cm/sec. Its 23 dB channel separation supports precise stereo information during playback. Additionally, the frequency response reaches from 20 Hz through 20 kHz within ±2 dB. The Special Elliptical stylus uses a 13/25 μm tip radius for detailed groove contact. Meanwhile, its 80 μm tracking ability supports stable performance at 315 Hz. Users can set the tracking force between 2.0 and 4.0 g for compatible setups. Ortofon recommends 3.0 g for the Arkiv stylus during normal operation. The 20° tracking angle supports the cartridge’s intended playback geometry. Its 9 μm/mN dynamic lateral compliance complements the stylus design for controlled groove tracking. The stylus also features 750 Ohm internal resistance and 450 mH internal inductance. Moreover, it supports a recommended 47 kOhm load resistance and 200-600 pF capacitance. As a result, the Ortofon STYLUS ARKIV Replacement stylus offers a practical way to maintain Arkiv cartridge performance. Replace the stylus while retaining the cartridge system for continued transcription and sampling work. Therefore, it helps restore the cartridge’s intended sound quality without replacing the complete cartridge assembly. This approach also supports consistent workflow results when users regularly archive vinyl recordings into digital formats.
